A Christmas Carol: One of the Best stories in history

One cold Christmas Eve, Scrooge is unkind to the people who work for him, then refuses to give to charity, and then is rude to his nephew when he invites him to spend Christmas with him.

When Scrooge gets home, he is visited by the ghost of his old business partner Jacob Marley — and then by three ghosts! They are the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Future.

Why you should watch this or read this Story

A Christmas Carol is one of the best stories I have ever read, seen and heard of in my life, there has been so many different adaptations of this classical story by Charles Dickens.

This story is not just a tale set about spreading the Joy of Christmas, sharing Love, Consideration, Faith and Hope but this also is a story that can be a reminder to any race, any culture, anybody who needs a wake up call about humanity, about selfless love, about not being selfish, ignorant, spiteful, ungrateful.

The theme of this Story

This story helps us not to forget what life is about when living, and also about what matters in our hearts, how we treat people.

About Christmas

My mother has always said to me, around Christmas time she experienced people being nice to to people, where race didn’t matter, or financial status, and I have to say my mum right.

Even me going through Christmas every year, I notice the change in people’s behaviour, strangers holding the door for me, young people offering to help me with shopping or getting off the bus during this Christmas season.

The bus driver slowing the bus down to let me on, the shop keeper holding the door again, other parents smiling at me when I have been walking in the park. This is so true.

Doing something nice for someone else, helping someone in need if you have the time, just giving someone else your time who you know will need it.

Film Adaptations

I have watched so many versions and still only have one particular favourite.

The Muppet Christmas Carol 1992

This is my favourite out of all Film adaptations of this film.

Classic that this came out the year I was born, on top of that there’s Michael Caine and he was an excellet scrooge.

The Muppets, Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, Gonzo, and many more.

I love the songs, and love the old Muppet Humour and twist in this versio.

If you haven’t watched it, why don’t you at some point around Christmas put this old classic on.

Others to look out for

Mickey’s Christmas Carol 1984

This version is short and sweet for little ones, and something quick to play in the background. While wrapping presents or browsing online shopping.

Scrooged 1988

Bill Murray, 80s classic with the adaptation of a Christmas Carol, I admit some scenes actually make me jump and scared especially near the end. This still is a funky twist for this era, I still enjoy seeing this classic.

Ghost of Girlfriend’s Past 2009

I absolutely love this film, it’s a Christmas Carol with a twist of showing Romance and how a man should change his perspective of how he treats women in his love life.

Christmas Cupid 2010

Christina Milian is actually one of my favourite actresses to watch. She may not be in the lime light as much, but as a mother, singer, fashion influence, self employed businesses with wine, fashion, baking. I admire this actress/singer.

Christmas Cupid is I would say my second favourite adaptation after Muppet’s Christmas Carol.

The reason why is because this shows a woman’s perspective on how she should be with people, in her love life, and remembering what Christmas is about.
