S.S That’s A Thought

Maybe your good and maybe things are getting better, or maybe you are waiting for things to get better. Perhaps you’re just overcoming an obstacle and maybe you’re still facing this brick wall in your life.

Going through this process at any stage of our lives can be frustrating, sometimes we are still questioning why did this happen to us? It’s okay I am here to remind you…that it’s okay to have low days, it’s okay when you are facing a brick wall in your life.

Don’t ever believe that you can’t get past it, because this is a LIE, you can and it just takes time healing on the inside more than what you portray on the outside.

Brickwalls can make us feel lazy, we become lazy to try or better ourselves during this situation. Overcoming the brickwall starts with Acceptance. You may need to accept that you can’t make this situation change whether you tried to talk against this wall, or you even added more harm to your brickwall.

Acceptance is a task that helps you realise no matter how you tried to avoid it, no matter how low you feel about the situation. Be honest with yourself that this brick wall, eventually you can climb over this brick wall and move forward.

Don’t worry, I know it can be easier said than done, I know the world makes it easy for us to believe the bad, the lies… deep down we can believe the good just as much.

Sometimes our worrying, overthinking can push us to block our own blessings all on our own. Don’t absorb people’s problems or their opinions with your beliefs and truths of who you are.

I was reminded it’s best to stay true to yourself ad who you are, stay true to your truth during this brick wall even if some people won’t like it.

Being yourself especially during the tough times helps you humble yourself, helps you to balance out your thoughts, and teaches you not to fear the unknown, or fear the outcome of your situation.

During your journey of the brick wall, sometimes comes depression, lack of motivation, comfort eating, not wanting to do anything, wanting it to end, angry at everything. This is normal in your journey, you’re a human being, you can vent, you can digest what you feel… after you can be thankful you have time, to appreciate the good about who you are, to recognise what you would like to change for yourself, you can learn from this brick wall.

Negative thoughts are Lies, you have the power to digest the negative thought, ignore it, stand firm in who you truly are and release that negative thought back to where it came from. You can always fight back and don’t give into those lies. During this time I have prayed and been raw in my thoughts, I released in tears, screaming, dancing, writing, whatever it is do it! You are allowed to let it go.

Stay engaged with the things in your life that make you feel good about yourself, stay focused on yourself and what you would like to change about yourself to better yourself, whatever keeps you happy. Hold onto it!

I remind myself, my hobbies, being active, watching a simple film that helps me to laugh, smile, and feel joy, dancing when I can, spending time with my son.

Having a bath when I have time, these things keep me happy. Watching sermons, inspirational interviews from people who inspire me makes me happy. Reminds me that I am a human being, faith is tested and I have to hold on during this brick wall, most crucial times to keep myself grounded and hold on to my peace.

You’re not Alone- Learning from Others

You may feel alone, but you’re not alone, you could learn and be inspired by other peers, family, older peers from a different generation who have had similar feelings and experiences that relate to you. You will hear stories from others that remind you, you’re not alone, you’re already strong of going through this brick wall in your life. Sharing, learning from others is good encouragement.

Learning from others enables you as a person to emphasize as a person, seeing life in someone else’s eyes, feeling brave and proud of how far you have come through your trials, being thankful you have met others and possibly your trials and how you overcome it can encourage others.

Self Journey- For Yourself

During this Brickwall, do the opposite to how your feeling and see if it makes a difference to your day. Even if you don’t feel like doing exercise, do some fun exercise you sometimes end up feeling better.

Write a thank you letter to yourself, write a an actual letter to YOU, or say it in your head, what would you thank yourself for? What are you thankful for to yourself? You’d be surprised what you find out and what you reveal during your life up until now.

Write down 5 things you love about yourself, it maybe the same as what people love about you, it may be completely different. It helps you reveal what you love about yourself? You can reflect on your answers.

Remember

Remember during the hard times how important you still are, remember even if it doesn’t feel like it, you still got this, you have the ability to change how you feel and how you can come out this brickwall feeling better and moving forward on a positive outcome.
